About Venus
The town of Venus, which straddles the border of Johnson and Ellis counties, was established in 1888. It was reportedly named by a local doctor, J. C. Smyth, in honor of the daughter of another area physician. It grew as a significant railroad junction for the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway and the International-Great Northern Railroad.
To get to the airport From Venus, take US-67 N toward Dallas or head north to connect with US-287 N toward Mansfield/Fort Worth. From either route, you can easily connect to TX-360 N, which provides a direct route to DFW International Airport. The drive is approximately 35-40 miles and takes about 45-55 minutes.
